About

Hi, I’m Suzanne LunaWelcome to my little corner.

For over two decades, I made television. Comedy, mostly - the kind that hopefully made you laugh so hard you forget, for a moment, that the world is a lot. Fifteen years at The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Six seasons of Momsplaining with Kristen Bell. Six Daytime Emmy Awards. Five Webbys. Over a billion views, give or take. What an incredible ride it’s been.

Then, about a year and a half ago, my husband said he thought I should try pottery. He thought I’d be good at it.

He was right...

...which I will admit exactly one time.

I fell for it immediately and completely.

“I gotta go make something that didn’t exist until I thought of it.”

That’s what I find myself telling friends whenever I head to the studio. There’s something quietly thrilling about starting with a lump of clay and ending up with an object that holds your coffee, or sits on your shelf, or just makes a room feel a little more like home. I’m still learning — always will be — and honestly, that’s the best part.

I also hold four black belts in various martial arts. People are always surprised by that. But it makes sense to me: there’s a discipline in earning a technique, refining it, earning it again. Being at the wheel feels exactly like that. The clay doesn’t care how many Emmys you have or how high you can kick. You either know what you’re doing, or you learn. And I love to learn.

Everything on this site I made by hand, in small batches, in Los Angeles. Some pieces turned out exactly as I imagined. Some surprised me. Many humbled the crap outta me. Somehow, something always emerges - with its own shape, its own mood, its own story.

And if that little thing could whisper one thing to you as it sat on your shelf - I hope it would be: Luna made me.

Thanks so much for being here. ✦
